Thats really good tips on leadership. Its like when Seth Godin talks about leading a tribe. What you have to do as a leader is lean in when the group needs help. But stay out of there way when they don't.

I built a web app for myself called markadee which lets you set a goal to a calendar and then when you make any progress you mark your calendar with an X and friends can leave comments to motivate you and you can do the same for others. I think of having a granular list of things can be daunting and I think just getting something done everyday no matter how small is much better measurement or progress.

Really like your post. You've made me think that my web app needs group permissions. I never thought of how it could work in terms of groups until now.
