Most people get pulled over for a speeding ticket once in a lifetime. Many people that drive for a living or commute long distances to work each day can be pulled over once each year. If you are pulled over and issued a ticket, don’t just plead guilty and hand over your hard earned money, fight your speeding ticket.

Many people are pulled over for many reasons whether going with the flow of traffic, late for work or due to poor signage on the road. What most people don’t realize is that the cost of the ticket isn’t the only charge that they will pay. Most drivers will also pay an insurance surcharge that can be up to a thousand dollars over the cost of a few years.

If you are going to fight a speeding ticker, got to court on your date and ask to speak to the prosecutor. The prosecutor is the person that has the ability to plead down your deal before the judge. Ask the prosecutor to issue you a ticket that is not a moving violation, for instance, a seat belt ticket, obstructing traffic or failure to follow signs. These tickets are usually the same cost in money but don’t have an insurance surcharge attached. This way you save money on insurance, and the government is happy that they get the same revenue. So if you are pulled over for a speeding ticket, fight it.
