Fight Your Speeding Ticket
Most of us will receive a speeding ticket in our lifetimes and many of us will receive more than one. If you are constantly pushing the speed limit on your way to work or drive long distances in which the speed changes frequently you can heed this advice on how to fight your speeding ticket.
Speeding tickets are usually a part of life. Most people get pulled over from time to time because they were late to work, didn’t notice that the speed limit changed or due to poor signage posted on the road. If you get caught speeding don’t just accept your ticket- fight it.
Many people don’t realize that the actually speeding ticket is not the only expense that you will be forced to pay, but just the tip of the iceberg. Many people don’t realize that when they get a speeding ticket, they also receive points on their license. Most car insurance companies charge a surcharge for points on your license and even hike up the price of car insurance for the entire policy. You can end up spending thousands of dollars due to one speeding ticket.
Fighting your speeding ticket is easy. You normally don’t need a lawyer, but choose to go down to court. Make sure you talk to the prosecutor, he or she is the person that can plea down your ticket to either less points or an offense that doesn’t give you moving violation points. For instance try to get a ticket for failure to obey a sign instead of speeding. The ticket price is the same but there is usually no insurance surcharges. So if you get stopped for speeding, don’t accept a ticket, fight it.
