You Can Achieve If You Believe

Belief in yourself is extremely important. When you truly believe in who you are, you can

* achieve more
* become more productive
* be more focused
* get more done
* be proactive

Let’s take a look at how self-belief can help you…

ACHIEVE MORE

Think back to a time when there was something you really wanted to do. Maybe you had just chosen your college major. The thrill and excitement of going after a career you adore probably drove you to study and work hard on attaining that degree. Because you believed in yourself, you were able to achieve what you wanted.

BECOME MORE PRODUCTIVE

When you believe in yourself, you rarely find excuses to not do what you know you should be doing. You are confident in your abilities, and as such, you choose not to procrastinate. You become wiser with your time and learn how to be creative and constructive with what you are given.

BE MORE FOCUSED

How To Ward Off Holiday Depressions

Every year hundreds of thousands of people across the world suffer from holiday depression. Family squabbles are almost always at the brunt of this problem. Close behind that are things like job loss, marital problems and the death of a loved one. Use these simple tips to help ward off holiday depression this year:

* Be joyful. The hardest thing to do sometimes is just to smile. But sometimes even a simple gesture such as this can make a huge difference in the way you feel. Practice being joyful every day.

* Sing. Singing can lift your spirits in a way that nothing else can. If you don’t like seasonal music, then put on one of your favorite CDs and sing along with the artist.

* Remember the good times. One of the biggest reasons for holiday depression is the loss of a loved one. If you are experiencing this sorrow, try to reflect on the good times you had together, rather than focusing on the grief you feel. Allow yourself to recall funny stories and good times together.

5 Ways To Give Thanks This Year

Is your Thanksgiving the same old boring routine year after year? Are you ready to do something different? Here are five simple ways you can give thanks this year:

1. Donate food and clothing. Look through your Yellow Pages and you should find more than one charitable organization. Go through your closets and cupboards and gather up all your “extras” to donate to the homeless or needy.

2. Cook Thanksgiving dinner for a needy family. Chances are, you know someone who is having a hard time making ends meet this Thanksgiving. What better way to give thanks, than to cook a nice Thanksgiving meal for a neighborhood family who doesn’t have much.

3. Gather your family. Has there been a riff in your family this year? All too often, families who are in the middle of a dispute (usually over something petty) cancel their holiday plans. If this describes your family, have Thanksgiving anyway. Call and invite everyone and have a nice family dinner, for whomever decides to show up.

5 Ways To Get Your Kids To Eat Healthier

Are you having trouble getting your kids to eat their vegetables and fruit? Do they constantly beg for junk food and juice packed with sugar? Here are five super ways to get your kids to eat healthier without all the whining:

1. Cut fruit into fun shapes. Most kids love fruit once they try it. Getting them to try it can be a problem, though. If this is the case with your children, try cutting the fruit into fun shapes. Cut star fruit or pineapple into the shape of a star. Cut strawberries into heart slices. Use a melon baller to scoop out “marbles” of cantaloupe and honeydew.

2. Trade one junk food for a fruit. If your kids are accustomed to eating junk food a lot, then it is probably best not to take it all away from them at once. Gradually trade one for one until you’ve succeeded in ridding your kitchen of junk food altogether.

3. Encourage your kids to drink water. While most kids won’t drink tap water, they will drink cold bottled water. Simply recycle and reuse old water bottles. Or, purchase each kid a cool water bottle that they can refill themselves and store in the fridge for a quick grab and go cold drink.

Give A Gift Of Thanks

Every Thanksgiving seems to bring about the same thing: a huge family dinner, football game, and everyone groaning about how much they shouldn’t have eaten. This year, why not do something different? Give a gift of thanks to someone you love.

Usually people only consider Christmas to be the time of year to give special gifts. But Thanksgiving is the perfect time to give someone this special gift of thanks-a gratitude journal.

A gratitude journal is a notebook that is filled with things you are thankful, or grateful, for. It is special because not only does it help open your eyes even more to the small things that we so often overlook, but it helps someone else to see us in a new light, too.

A gratitude journal can be kept all year long, if you’d like to give a plump journal to someone. However, you can create a nice, simple, small gratitude journal in a very short amount of time.

First, choose a small journal. Usually a pocket-sized notebook with a hard cover is the perfect size for this project.
