A Personal Growth Plan, Your Path Toward Self Actualization

Do you have a personal growth plan? Maybe you do without even being fully aware of it. What is “self-actualization” and how will you know when you become self-actualized? You may have heard these terms being tossed about without fully understanding what they mean.

A personal growth plan means that you are taking measured steps toward becoming the best “you” you can be. You may be working on improving your self-esteem, taking a class in yoga or writing in a journal. You may be doing these things without actually having a formal plan in mind.

You can think about your personal growth plan a process while being self-actualized is a destination. Self-actualization is the fulfillment of the potential you have inside of you. It is the end result, the realization, of everything you are capable of becoming in your innermost being. When you become self-actualized, you can look over your life with the satisfaction of knowing you are fulfilling your personal destiny.

Quite a lofty goal, but one which can be reached with a measure of desire, work and planning. Set aside some time to determine the things you feel you need to work on to get closer to the person you were meant to be. Make a conscious effort to find out where you want to go with your life before you lay out the steps in your personal growth plan that are necessary for you to get there.

Consider committing your plan to writing, perhaps in a journal. This can help you identify the areas of personal development you feel you most need to work on and enable you to see your progress as move forward with your personal growth plan.

Consider your personal growth plan as an investment in your present and future happiness. By creating a plan you are consciously making a commitment to expand your horizons and continue on the path of self-growth. Many small steps can make a big difference in your life.
