5 Day Goal Setting E Course
=======
DAY 1
=======
Have you set goals for yourself today? Are your goals realistic? Do you think you can successfully achieve everything you want to do today?
If you struggle with maintaining healthy goals, try creating a daily task list instead. Begin by deciding what you’d like to accomplish this week. Then break it down into tasks you can do each day.
For example, if your main goal for this week is to exercise more, try creating a daily task list that looks something like this:
* Monday – Walk 20 minutes on treadmill.
* Tuesday – Go for a jog around the block.
* Wednesday – Meet Mom’s Group for aerobics workout.
* Thursday – Yoga class at 2:30
* Friday – Walk for 20 minutes with kids at the park.
Setting and reaching goals is easy-if you make it easy for yourself.

DAY 2
=======
Are your expectations always high for yourself? Would you say your expectations are probably too high most of the time?
Setting unrealistic goals is one of the main reasons why so many people fail to reach their goals. When your goals are too far out of reach for you to even imagine reaching them, it’s difficult to maintain the stamina to work towards them.
Today, remind yourself as you set your goals that your expectations must be reasonable. If your goal is to lose 20 pounds, you can’t reasonably expect yourself to lose that in a week or two. Set a goal of 1-2 pounds per week, then create a plan on how to do that.

DAY 3
=======
Promises, promises. How many times do you make promises to yourself, then never keep them? Do you promise yourself that you’ll do more tomorrow? Do you promise yourself that you’ll work harder next week?
When you make a promise to yourself to do something, then don’t follow through, you are lying to yourself. It’s no different than promising your best friend you’ll baby-sit her daughter on Friday night, then skip town on her.
When you set personal goals for yourself, those were promises that you made to yourself. You promised yourself that you would get fit, or be more positive, or make more money. By not following through on the goals you set, you lied to yourself and let yourself down.
Start keeping your promises today.

DAY 4
=======
Do you have trouble setting goals? Is it hard for you to visualize your future? Maybe you just don’t know what you want.
One of the hardest things for those who aren’t sure of what they want or where they are going in life is to set goals. If you don’t have a vision, it’s hard to plan ahead. But how do you get that vision?
Start by closing your eyes and breathing slowly for a few minutes. Now imagine yourself a year from now. Where are you? What are you doing? How have you changed? Picture yourself 5, or 10 years from now. Ask yourself the same questions.
Visualization is a big part of goal setting. You must first be able to imagine yourself living the life that you dream of. Imagine yourself having grown and changed for the better. Now what would it take to get there? Those are the goals you should begin with.

DAY 5
=======
Setting short-term goals can help you hone in on the smaller tasks that have to be done on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis. If you have already set a long-term goal, then break that down into some short-term goals that you can work on week-by-week.
Let’s say, for example, that your long term goal is to be debt free within 5 years. The first thing you’d have to do is gather all your debt and get a real look at how much money you currently owe. Next, you’d have to create a plan on how you will pay off each debt. And finally, you’d set that plan into motion by chipping away at that debt every week.
Long term and short term goals go hand in hand. Use this idea to create your own short term goals today.
