Is anyone really ever satisfied with their finances?

Burying your head in the sand works for a camel, but when it comes to finances you need to be aware of all your spending habits, debts and how they are affecting your credit report.

There are always ways to improve your finances, and by following these 15 tips to improve your finances, you could finally take a step in the direction of financial stability:

1. Don’t shop:

Shopping=spending. If you avoid the malls, you’ll avoid buying more stuff you really don’t need.

2. Use your own banks ATMs:

The fees that you have to pay to use bank machines are ridiculous and avoidable just by only using your own banks ATMs. Take an extra minute to search for your bank, and you’ll save tons in the long run.

3. Track your spending:

If you keep track of your spending, you can see what it is that you are buying that is necessary, and what you are buying that you don’t really need.

4. Lower credit card balances:

Interest is a killer. Pay off credit card balances as quickly as you can afford to.

5. Avoid getting too many credit cards:

When one credit card has hit its limit, don’t just go out and get another, pay off the first one and avoid putting yourself into an endless sea of debt.

6. Check your credit score:

Doing a check on your credit score can help you see if an improvement is needed.

7. Don’t get into debt:

Live within your means. If you can’t afford it now, save for it and buy it later.

8. Live beneath your means:

Just because you can afford it, doesn’t mean you need it. Don’t buy the things you want, buy the things you need.

9. Create a second income:

A second job is a sure fire way to improve your financial situation.

10. Sell what you don’t use:

Before acquiring more things, get rid of the stuff you have cluttering up the house that you don’t use.

11. Cook at home:

When you go to a restaurant, you spend way more money than you would had you eaten that same meal at home.

12. Highest interest first:

So simple, it’s scary.

13. Shop smart:

Do you really need that pair of shoes?

14. Use cash:

There is no interest when you use cash.

15. Lend and borrow:

Try going to the library instead of Chapters, everything is free!

The most important thing to remember is to find your happiness in love and family. Not in spending, and in the acquisition of more useless stuff.
